Beer Battered Fish

  • Ingredients

    • 2L Vegtable Oil
    • 4x 180 - 200g snapper fillets
    • 2 cups Plain Flour
    • 100ml of XXXX Gold Beer
    • Pinch of salt & petter

    Method

    • Pour oil into deep fryer and set it to 180°C.
    • remove any bones and scales from fish fillet.
    • Mix flour, beef, salt and pepper into a bowl, until all conbined and the right consistency (the batter needs to be thick enough to stick to the fish).
    • Put 1 piece of fish into the batter at a time.
    • Place into the hot oil. Put about 1cm of the fish into the oil and slowly moving back and forth a few times and then slowly slide the rest of the fish in the oil
    • Remove fish from deep fryer when golden brown.
    • Serve with tartar sauce or garlic aioli (see Sauces).
